Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters
Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) Program helps parents prepare their 3-5 year old children for success in school. HIPPY empowers parents as their children?s first teacher by giving them the tools and confidence they need to work with their children in the home. HIPPY brings families, organizations and communities together to address educational barriers caused by lack of education, poverty and social isolation. More on our HIPPY page

Parents As Teachers
With the excitement and joy that comes with a new baby, parents can sometimes feel isolated and frustrated about their abilities, or just want to share the excitement of the daily changes in their lives with others who understand. After all, parenting isn't a skill that just comes naturally. It is a process of learning, changing, adapting, and growing - just like your newborn! That is why Keiki O Ka `Aina Family Learning Centers offers Parents As Teachers, a nationally acclaimed parenting programs for families of infants and toddlers. More on our PAT page

AIM - HI
The Montessori approach to Hawaiian culture
AIM-HI is a home-based preschool curriculum designed to give Native Hawaiian children ages 3 and 4 a jump start on school readiness. This program has adopted Queen Kapi‘olani‘s motto Kulia I Ka Nu‘u which means 'strive for the highest peak'. This motto conveys the objective and name of this project, which is to AIM-HI for our children's future. The curriculum is an experimental integration of the Montessori approach and Hawaiian culture. Children will learn through direct observation of and active engagement with their parent. More on our AIM HI page

SFAI Mentoring
Supporting Families Affected By Incarceration
Supporting Keiki of Incarcerated Parents (SKIP) at Waiawa Correctional Facility-A 13-week program that allows the inmate to interact with their children once a week for an hour. The program provides a structured setting for the fathers to apply their developing parental knowledge and skills while reconnecting with their children.

Supporting Parents as First Teachers (SPAFT)-Is provided to both incarcerated and custodial parents and is designed to facilitate increased understanding of parent and care giver role in supporting children's learning, growth and development. The five week workshop is hands-on and interactive to build on prior knowledge. In addition, they reflect on their own life and childhood experiences and how these experiences influence the choices they make as their child's first teachers.
