Presented to the
Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning Centers
May 13th, 2006
On behalf of the people of Hawai`i, we send greetings of aloha to all who are gathered to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning Centers (KOKA-FLC).
Through the hard work and dedication of it's ohana , this organization has grown from a small Kalihi - based group into a large agency that serves more than 2000 parents and children each year in 40 different community sites on O`ahu and Maui. We congratulate you for your efforts to support parents as the initial teachers for children, advocate for literacy, communicate the vital importance of education, and inspire families to undertake leadership roles within their community.
This year, Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning Centers can be proud of the KOKA-FLC Capital Campaign, which has been in the planning stages for more than four years. This project will utilize 18 acres in Kalihi to build a community cultural and educational facility, which will help to teach children and adults the attitudes necessary for success. Simply by it's nature, this will have a major impact on preserving the Hawaiian culture, language, values, and traditions.
We thank you for the significant contributions you have made within our communities and wish you continued success in all of you endeavors. Aloha
